Treatment for Coprophobia with hypnotherapy in Kent - Herne Bay
Coprophobia is an abnormal and persistent fear of faeces (poo, whatever you like to call it). Sufferers realise it’s irrational but it still makes them anxious. They will go out of their way to avoid coming into contact with faeces and in extreme cases they cannot even bear to see it.
"Coprophobia" is derived from the Greek "kopros" (dung) and "phobos" (fear). The fear of faeces can result in the following symptoms (much the same as that experienced in extreme anxiety and panic attacks):
Breathlessness
Dizziness
Dry mouth
Excessive sweating
Nausea
Feeling sick
Shaking
Heart palpitations
…to name but a few.
Surprisingly, this is not an uncommon condition, although, for obvious reasons, it is one which people don’t feel comfortable discussing. Coprophobia is an intense irrational fear of something which in reality poses no actual danger.
Although adults with coprophobia actually know that these fears are irrational, they nevertheless often find even thinking about facing the feared situation can bring on a panic attack or cause severe anxiety.
This is a typical condition which can be helped by Pure Hypnoanalysis (analytical therapy).
