Overcoming shy bladder syndrome (paruresis) with hypnotherapy in Kent - Herne Bay

Paruresis is more commonly known shy bladder syndrome; it is a type of social anxiety disorder, which can affect both men and women, although it’s more prevalent in men as they have to urinate in front of others, whereas women have the privacy of a cubicle.

The sufferer is unable to urinate (wee/pee) in the presence of others, such as in a public toilets.

It’s similar to coprophobia but this time it’s a fear of urinating in public and can similarly vary in intensity from feeling uneasy about doing this in a public toilet to completely avoiding using them.

As with coprophobia, this creates high levels of anxiety and panic and can lead to physical problems such as bladder infections.

It is a typical social anxiety phobia and can be treated successfully with Pure Hypnoanalysis (analytical therapy).
